Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas teen who has been linked to multiple rapes and murders in two states will be tried as an adult in the death of 23-year-old Maria Ezquerro (pictured right) whose body was found in her Galleria-area apartment last November.

The slain woman’s family was in juvenile court Wednesday when 16-year old Lenario Washington’s case was transferred to the adult system.
“It’s a sad thing … a very disturbed young man who did this atrocity. It’s really sad for Maria which this is all about. She was a great really beautiful person in and out.”
Washington is accused of at least the judge said that she tries to rehabilitate juvenile suspects when she can, but in this case, the “public was indeed in need of protection.”
Police say Washington’s M-O was to hold women at gunpoint and rape them.
