DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A suspect is in custody after a bizarre incident at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas Friday morning.
Dallas Police Major Max Geron said Baylor police were called to the Heart and Vascular Center parking lot around 7:30 after someone noticed a man slumped over in a car.
“They approached the vehicle. According to witnesses, the vehicle reversed rapidly striking both of the officers,” he said.
That’s when Maj. Geron said the one of the Baylor officers fired his weapon and hit the car’s tire before the driver managed to take off.
Thanks to tips from witnesses, Dallas police officers found the suspect at an apartment a mile away from the campus.
“That suspect had walked off from the vehicle but additional witnesses provided a suspect description and a direction of travel to Dallas police officers. They were able to locate the suspect nearby and took him into custody” said Maj. Geron.
No one was seriously injured.
The suspect has not been identified.
