Teen Charged in Carrollton Police Chase and Crash

CARROLLTON (WBAP/KLIF)- A Carrollton teen is charged with aggravated assault and evading arrest after a police chase just after midnight on Monday, April 29th. Carrollton Police responded to a theft in progress at a 7-11 store on North Josey Lane when officers saw a Black Cadillac leaving the scene. The officer observed that the vehicle was displaying a paper tag that did not match the vehicle and believed that the vehicle may have been stolen. The vehicle initially pulled on to a residential street and then fled from the officer eventually travelling into Dallas.

Sergeant Anthony Taylor said Carrollton officers requested the assistance of Dallas Police and continued to pursue the vehicle to the intersection of eastbound I-635 and Dallas Pkwy, where the vehicle ran a red light and struck the front of a second vehicle.

Taylor said the vehicle that was struck had two adults and the suspect’s car had 8 other teens in it. At least six individuals were treated for non life threatening injuries. Taylor said the 8 others in the suspect’s car will not be charged with any crimes.
