Mueller Report Released: The Redacted Version

WASHINGTON D.C. (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Department of Justice posted a redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report Thursday morning, less than two hours after Attorney General William Barr delivered an assessment of the findings.

Before the release, Barr told reporters the report did not find that President Donald Trump or members of his campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.

Barr said Muller’s report details 10 incidents involving Trump that were investigated as potential acts of criminal obstruction of justice.

The report  said “The President’s efforts to influence the investigation were mostly unsuccessful, but that is largely because the persons who surrounded the President declined to carry out orders or accede to his requests.”

While the report did not exonerate the president on allegations of obstruction, Barr said he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein did not find “the evidence was sufficient to establish the president committed a criminal offense. ”

Speaking at a Wounded Warriors event in Washington D.C., President Trump said he felt vindicated.

“There never was collusion by the way and there never will be and we do have to get to the bottom of these things. I will say to my friends…this should never happen  to another president again,” he said.
