Big Pine Key, Florida (WBAP/KLIF) – A federal grand jury has indicted a Florida man for allegedly scamming a Tarrant County school district out of nearly $2 million. 61 year old Donald Conkright was indicted on two counts of wire fraud. Florida authorities say he sent a phony email account update to a manager for the Crowley Independent School District near Fort Worth falsely claiming it contained new banking information for a construction company that had done some work for the district. The manager changed the school district’s payment details, and Conkright allegedly collected at least two large payments. He reportedly spent the money on BMW automobiles and Rolex watches. Conkright could be sentenced to 30 years in prison if he’s convicted on both charges.
