Houston (WBAP/KLIF) – Houston authorities have arrested a suspect in the December 30 killing of a young girl who apparently was gunned down by mistake. 20 year old Eric Black, Jr. was arrested Saturday, and charged with capital murder early Sunday morning. Black reportedly told Houston detectives he was driving the car from which the shots were fired that killed 7 year old Jazmine Barnes. He reportedly told them there were two others involved, identifying them by their initials, L.W. and E.B. Police are looking for them now. Black also said they thought the car they fired on was a different vehicle, and didn’t realize they’d shot up the wrong car until they saw news reports later in the day. The Harris County Sheriff says investigators were lead to Black by a tip that was corroborated by his department’s investigation.
