PLANO (WBAP/KLIF) – A North Texas police Department recommends discarding your christmas trash with caution.
In a video posted to social media, the Plano Police Department discourages residents from giving potential thieves an idea of what they got for Christmas.
“Be wise, don’t advertise,” said Plano Police Officer David Tilley.
Tilley said throwing away boxes with a products image on it can be dangerous.
“By doing this you are advertising to anyone driving down the alley what you have inside your home,” said Tilley.
The Plano Police Department recommends folding boxes into the trash pile or cutting the boxes up.
