North Texas Televangelist Gloria Copeland Claims Flu Season Doesn’t Exist Amid Outbreak

NEWARK  (WBAP/KLIF News) – A popular North Texas televangelist is catching heat for comments she made denouncing the flu virus.

Gloria Copeland is the wife of the controversial Pastor Kenneth Copeland.

She posted a video on her husband’s ministry’s Facebook page January 31st and told more than one million followers that flu season doesn’t exist.

“Listen partners, we don’t have a flu season. We’ve got a duck season…a deer season…but we don’t have a flu season,” she said.

Copeland she even gave advice to people who have yet to contract the virus.

“Just keep saying that ‘I’ll never have the flu….I’ll never have the flu’,” she said.

More than 90 people have died from the flu in North Texas.

The Center for Disease Control said in its most recent report that 48 states are experiencing a flu outbreak.

The agency also said the outbreak was the worst its seen in 15 years.
