Bonham ISD Shuts Down Schools to Disinfect Campus Amid Widespread Flu Outbreak

BONHAM (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Bonham Independent School District canceled school for the rest of the week through Tuesday, January 23rd, amid a widespread flu outbreak among staff and students.

According to a statement on its Facebook page, the district said it’s going to disinfect the campuses and buses, in an effort to increase the health and safety protocols for each campus.

The district cited the fact that local health officials recommended a full 7 days to stop the cycle of spreading influenza.

It also canceled all home school-related activities.

The district said bad weather days will not be used for this time off and days will not have to be made up.

Regular schedules for staff and students will resume Wednesday, January 24th.
