DALLAS — Five people were shot, one fatally, in West Dallas late Monday night, according to police.
The shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of Canada Drive and Gulden Lane, near the Trinity River and Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, police said in a news release.
Officers responded to the scene at 10:56 p.m. after receiving a call about a shooting, where they discovered that two groups had been involved in the incident. Five individuals were shot, and Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victims to local hospitals, where one was pronounced dead.
Shortly after, another shooting was reported near Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Police confirmed that the two incidents are connected, although it is unclear whether anyone was injured or killed in the second shooting.
Details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain limited, and the identity of the deceased has not been released.
