UVALDE – (WBAP/KLIF) – Uvalde City Council members unanimously vote to approve a settlement between the City of Uvalde and families of the Robb Elementary School shooting victims. Terms are not disclosed.
Several lawsuits had been filed, seeking accountability for the law enforcement response to the shooting. 19 fourth grade students and two teachers were killed when an 18-year old gunman stormed into the school, and police response in shutting the gunfire down was delayed amid a “perfect storm” of confusion.
The settlement is viewed as affirmation of the city’s commitment to supporting the Uvalde Police Department Guardian initiative, which enhances emergency training and evaluation of officers, and widens meantl health support.
The city of Uvalde, also pledging to work with families in crafting a permanent memorial to the lives lost
