
DALLAS – (WBAP/KLIF) – A Houston DEA agent is named as the new Dallas Police Chief.
Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor-Tolbert says she’s selected Houston DEA Special Agent Daniel Comeaux to be the next chief of Dallas Police Department, saying “The City of Dallas continues to achieve crime reduction year after year. I am confident with SAC Comeaux at the helm, we will continue to be one of the safest large cities in the country, while building trust, and bolstering our recruitment and retention efforts. I want to thank Interim Chief Michael T. Igo for his longstanding service to the Dallas Police Department, and his willingness to lead during this time of transition.”
Candidate finalists were down to five individuals in March: . Comeaux, interim Dallas Chief of Police Michael Igo, Dallas PD Assistant Chief Catrina Shead, Carrollton Chief of Police Roberto Arredondo, and former FBI Assistant Director Brian Boetig, in a series of community meet and greet events.
