WASHINGTON – (WBAP/KLIF) – President Trump raises tarrifs against imports from China to 125 percent today, but announces a 90 day pause for others. Beijing responded to the White House tariffs by announcing a reciprocal 84% tariff rate on U.S. goods, effective April 10.
In a Truth Social post, Trump says he is immediately raising American tariffs on China’s products moving into the U.S. “based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets.” In the same post, Trump says is authorizing a 90-day pause for other countries, stating more than 75 other countries have reached out to the White House to negotiate trade deals; also effective immediately.
