The Giving Machines Return to North Texas

(WBAP/KLIF) — North Texans have the opportunity to give to those less fortunate during the Christmas holiday season as The Giving Machines are touring DFW.

The large, red vending machines include a variety of cards with donation prices between $5 and $150 that feature a gift to those in need. The giving machines are sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and include school supplies, sports equipment, meals, new shoes, or a warm coat that can be purchased with a debit or credit card.

100% of the funds collected benefit 7 charities, including the Salvation Army, UNICEF, and Catholic Charities.

Last year, The Giving Machines raised over $600-thousand in North Texas, and close to a million dollars state-wide.

Dallas-Fort Worth is one of more than 100 cities worldwide to host the Light the World Giving Machines in 2024. Five local DFW charities will benefit: Salvation Army North Texas, Catholic Charities Dallas, Lovepacs, 6 Stones and Agape and two global charities, including Lifting Hands International and UNICEF – USA.

The Giving Machine will be in three locations throughout the metroplex from Nov. 22 – Jan. 1, 2025. They were in Grapevine from Nov. 22 – Dec. 5 at Napoli’s Italian Kitchen & Market. The next stop is in Frisco at Frisco Square from Dec. 7 – Dec. 18. Finally, the Giving Machines will make a stop at the Historic Downtown McKinney at Guava Tree from Dec. 20 until Jan. 1, 2025.

“The Giving Machine is sponsored by our Church as a way to have an unforgettable giving experience with friends and families,” North Texas Area Authority Jonathan Cannon said for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. “These moments help us feel the Savior’s love for all of God’s children.”

“The Giving Machines are an awesome idea.
