Wylie Police Searching for Woman Who Vanished Sunday Night

WYLIE (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Wylie Police Department is asking the public to help find a woman who vanished Sunday night.

Investigators said at 6:35 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a call from the husband of 46-year-old Melonie Ballenger.

He told officers his wife was last seen at their home in the 100 block of Parkwood Drive south of the Muddy Creek Reservoir at 10 pm.

According to a Facebook post, he told the authorities she did not take her car or phone when she left.

Authorities deployed investigators, K9 search dogs and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter for several hours in an effort to find her.

Police are asking residents to review their outdoor camera footage between midnight and 6 a.m. to see if there’s any sign of Melonie.

She’s white, 5’7″, 135 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
