MESQUITE (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A manhunt continued Friday morning for two carjacking suspects in connection to an overnight chase and shooting in Mesquite.
Investigators said the incident started at the Watermark Apartments on John West Road west of Big Town Boulevard just after 10 p.m.
Officers received a call about a carjacking and the victims told dispatch two armed men stole his vehicle.
Authorities said a Mesquite police officer spotted the car about an hour later and tried to stop it but the driver took off.
The driver ended up crashing into the Treymore Apartments a few blocks from the carjacking.
Mesquite police said the officer fired his weapon but there’s no indication that either suspect was hit.
Dallas police are handling the officer-involved shooting investigation since it happened in their service area.
