Euless Woman Accused of Trying to Drown Toddler, Hurt Brother Due to Their Muslim Faith Indicted

EULESS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A Tarrant County grand jury indicted a Euless woman accused of trying to drown a three-year-old Muslim girl after hurting the child’s 6-year-old brother on May 19 on charges including attempted capital murder.

42-year-old Elizabeth Wolf is accused of making racist statements against Muslims before the incident after an argument with the child’s mother at an apartment pool.

Authorities said Wolf grabbed the boy and scratch him. She’s accused of grabbing the boy’s sister and forcing her underwater as the mother attended to her son.

At a press conference following the incident, the Council on American Islamic Relations DFW chapter’s Mustafa Carroll said this case is a grim reminder that religious-based still exists.

“The actual crime is really disturbing. Anybody could be subject to that type of crime…just because they’re not liked by somebody. It’s hard to understand,” he said.

Wolf is also charged with bodily injury to a child under 15 and a hate crime enhancement, which CAIR has been calling for all summer.

The enhancement would mean extra time in prison for Wolf if she’s convicted.

Wolf is being held in the Tarrant County Jail on a $1 million bond.
