Two Rocket Attacks on International Forces Base in Iraq

UPDATE: 4:35 PM – As per “U.S. official” – “We can confirm that there was a suspected rocket attack today against US and Coalition forces at Al-Asad Airbase, Iraq,” the official said. “Initial indications are that several US personnel were injured. Base personnel are conducting a post-attack damage assessment.”

REUTERS – (WBAP/KLIF) – “Two Katyusha rockets on Monday were fired at Iraq’s Ain al-Asad air base which hosts U.S. and other international forces in western Iraq, security sources said.

It was not clear if the attack caused any casualties or damage inside the base, the sources said.

One security source said the rockets fell inside the base.”
