Dallas Love Field Temporarily Closing One Its Runways for Safety Upgrades

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Dallas Love Field has closed one of its two runways for the next few months to make some safety upgrades.

The project involves Runway 13L/31R and is expected to wrap up on October 29th. The work will correct runway safety area deficiencies with comprehensive RSA grading and the installation of new drainage infrastructure along the Taxiway A side of the runway.

The airport’s Lauren Rounds outlined what travelers can expect.

“That will possibly create some congestion on our airfield. So, customers may see some delays but we’re expecting that to be minimal,” she said.

Those who live or work nearby might also be affected.

“The residents or those working nearby on the Denton side of the airport may also hear about more noise from the airport because all of the construction will be concentrated on that side of the airport,” said Rounds.

Customers are advised to check flight statuses with their respective airlines for any potential delays.
