Tarrant County Homeowners Could See Their Tax Bills Lowered

(WBAP/KLIF) – FORT WORTH, TX – The Tarrant Appraisal District is planning to overhaul the way it determines home values. The district is planning to freeze property values until 20-26, reappraise homes every other year instead of annually, and make it harder to increase the property’s value by more than 5%. However, the changes would also affect public schools since their budgets are tied to property values. All of the changes have to be approved by September 15th in order for them to go into effect.
