MILAWAUKEE – (WBAP/KLIF)- Investigation is underway into the police-related shooting death of a man reported in a Milwaukee park about one mile from the site of the Republican National Convention.
The name of the man shot has not been released, nor the identity or department of the officer(s) from which the reported fatal shot came. Witnesses say two men were involved in a fight; one pulled a knife, and several peace officers are reported to have shot the knife-wielding man. The incident was reported in the city’s King Park.
Police were joined by Secret Service officers swarming the scene, followed by the arrival of paramedics. Because the RNC is underway, police from 24 states as well as Washington D.C. and represented by two dozen more Wisconsin police agencies are in the area, watching both the convention activities and a much wider arena of activities and movements.
