WASHINGTON D.C. – (WBAP/KLIF) – A push to oust President Joe Biden as the Democrat party’s presidential contender grows Wednesday with the House Oversight Committee subpoenas of three senior White House aides. The GOP led committee demands they sit for depositions regarding President Biden’s health, according to reports from Axios.

Reuters News reports the committee has subpoenaed First Lady Jill Biden’s top aide Anthony Bernal, the deputy chief of staff Annie Tomasini, in addition to senior adviser Ashley Williams.  The panel is asking the aides it has sent requests to respond by the 17th of July, requesting they sit for closed-door interviews later this month/July.

Biden faces doubts about chances for reelection following a weak and faltering performance in a debate against Republican and former President Donald Trump.  Since that time, some Democrat members of Congress and high-profile donors have publicly asked him to withdraw from the race, scheduled for election decision as of November 5th.  Biden says he will stay in the race, blaming a poor performance on a cold and lack of sleep from overseas travel.

Countering the latest development, White House spokesperson Ian Sams is quoted as saying, “Like everything Congressman Comer has done over the past year, these subpoenas are a baseless political stunt intended for him to get media attention instead of engage in legitimate oversight. His partisan attacks on the President have been discredited, and now he continues to debase the House by weaponizing subpoenas to get headlines instead of seeking information through the proper constitutional process.”
