Dallas Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting that Left 1 Dead, 2 in Custody

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Dallas police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one person dead and two others in custody Thursday.

It happened just after 1 a.m. in the 2900 block of South Lancaster Road. Investigators say three robbery suspects ran out of an illegal game room then jumped a fence to where officers had responded.

One suspect allegedly pointed a gun at an officer and a struggle ensued. A police spokesperson the officer fired his weapon, hitting the suspect.

Officers at the scene started first aid and called for Dallas Fire Rescue. The suspect was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Two other suspects ran from the scene but were arrested by officers. No officers were injured in the chaos.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia arrived at the scene and is expected to provide more details about the incident next week.
