JOHNSON COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Investigators are looking into the cause of a deadly plane crash in Johnson County Wednesday night.
In a Facebook post, the Godley Fire Department said the crash was reported just before nine in the 8600 block of FM 4, about nine miles northwest of Cleburne Airport.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said 18-year-old Jon Diego Monreal of Crowley was killed when his single-engine Cessna 150L appeared to run out of fuel before crashing into a field around 8:35 p.m.
There were no other passengers on the plane.
Just before 10 p.m., Godley Fire Department said the fire from the crash had been contained and there was no threat to any surrounding neighborhoods or structures.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
