What You Need to Know About “Super Tuesday”

March 5th, also known as “Super Tuesday,” is quickly approaching. Here’s what you need to know…

March 5th is just a primary, so voters will only be able to nominate presidential candidates they want to see on the general election ballot.

Then in November, voters will be able to select either the Republican or Democrat they want to be the presidential candidate.

Numerous other primaries will also be on the March ballot as well, both nationally and statewide.

Most notably, Senator Ted Cruz’s seat in the U.S. Senate, which is up for grabs.

County websites will have more information on your local elections and voting. To vote in person, you must present a valid photo ID.

How to request a mail-in ballot:

To vote by mail in Texas, you must be 65 years old or older, sick or disabled, out of the county on Election Day and during the early voting period, or in jail but otherwise eligible.

The last day to apply for a mail-in ballot for the March 5 election is Friday, February 23rd (received, not postmarked).
