Dallas ISD Expected to Spend Millions to Keep Up With State Required School Safety Protocol

DALLAS, TX – (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas ISD is ramping up security. Over the next five years, Dallas ISD is expected to spend millions of dollars to keep up with state required security protocol.

Administrators are asking the board to authorize more than $3 million dollars for police equipment, supplies, and uniforms. These expenses are part of the state mandates passed in response to the shooting at rob elementary in Uvalde which requires security at all campuses. Many districts including DISD have struggled to follow through due to lack of funding and manpower.
