New Washington Bill Would Order DUI Immigrants to be Deported

By Kimberly James, WBAP and KLIF News, Dallas, Texas.

59 House Democrats join Republican colleagues, passing a measure to deport undocumented immigrants caught driving under the influence. The bill passed 274-150.

Alabama Republican Barry Moore introduced the measure, noting someone dies in a crash with an impaired driver every 45 minutes.

The measure would make those charged with driving under the influence in the U.S. illegally, instantly elgible for deportation, and permanent inadmissability.

Republicans have pushed for stricter immigration and security at the border with Mexico, but the issues have taken on a new urgency this year, with polls showing likely voters in the presidential election this fall increasingly concerned about the state of both.

Presidnet Biden is pledging to “shut” the U.S. Mexico border if granted the ability in proposed legisation White House and Senate negotiators are working toward.
