DALLAS – (WBAP/KLIF) – As a mysterious and sometimes fatal dog illness spreads across the nation and appears to have been detected in Texas now, many veterinarians advise dog owners avoid allowing their pooch to have interaction with other dogs. That can mean no trips to the dog park or dog run areas allowing them free and off-leash time.

An app called “SniffSpot” may help North Texas pet parents find a less risky outlet for their dogs. Sniffspot features multiple areas across North Texas, and nationwide, where pet owners can rent private runs, backyards, even trips to the beach on private property nationwide. While it’s always possible Fido can still catch some diseases merely sniffing around, vets do agree at least it’s not a place several dogs will be interacting at one time, and perhaps spreading viruses or bacteria, especially for this “mysterious disease”.

Multiple offerings for Fido’s romp on private property for rent are shown on the SniffSpot website; you can download the app to make reservations. https://www.sniffspot.com/
