FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Several people are recovering after an alleged drunk driver hit two people during a police chase in Fort Worth over the weekend.
Fort Worth police said the incident started with a traffic stop on University Drive and Bailey Avenue around 10:30 pm. on Saturday.
According to investigators, as officers attempted to stop 29-year-old Andrew Guerra, he took off.
During the chase, police said Guerra struck two pedestrians and another car before he was taken into custody.
The two pedestrians were sent to the hospital but are expected to recover. Guerra is charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle.
The incident comes as authorities continue to warn about a recent high number of deadly drunk driving crashes across North Texas in recent weeks.
