Denton Fentanyl Dealer Charged with Murder

(WBAP/KLIF) — For the third time the City of Denton has charged a drug dealer with murder, after a new Texas law went into effect late last year.

18-year-old Zakkary McReynolds sold fentanyl to Ryan Erwin that the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office determined caused the the 17-year-old’s death. According to Amy Cunningham with denton police, Erwin’s death occurred last September, and the charge stemmed from a joint investigation by Denton PD, the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, and U.S. Marshals.

McReynolds is being held in the Denton City Jail.
