At Least 6 Dead in Violent Tennessee Tornadoes

NASHVILLE – (WBAP/KLIF) – At least six people were killed and 23 reported injured as tornadoes barreled through the Deep South Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Tornado damage is reported heavy in Nashville and Clarksville, as well as other locations struck, and National Weather Service officials are investigating reports of twisters in Kentucky as well.

Power outages placed at 80-thousand customers overnight were downgraded to 50-thousand by daybreak as searchers began the work of looking for victims trapped in remnants of buildings and homes.

Nearly 50 miles away, another 3people were confirmed dead in Madison, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. Significant damage from a tornado, also reported in Gallatin and Hendersonville, Tennessee, north of Nashville.
