Murder Trial of Seattle Visitor to Dallas Underway; Dallas County

DALLAS – (WBAP/KLIF) – A murder trial for the first of three suspects in the killing of a 23 year old woman visiting Dallas from Seattle is expected to get underway today in Dallas County. Lisa Dykes is one of three suspects facing trial in connection with the murder of Botello.

Botello was last seen in a Deep Ellum nightclub October of 2020. She was visiting a friend in Dallas, and left the apartment to meet with friends. Her body was found five months later in a wooded area near Wilmer. Police say they found traces of Botello’s blood in a house where Lisa Dykes was, amid other evidence.

Dykes was indicted for murder by a Dallas County grand jury with Nina Tamar Marano and Charles Anthony Beltran. They say Dykes and Beltran’s phones were traced to the area where the girl’s body was dumped, and additionally, at a home where Dykes and the victim were earlier that evening.

A nationwide manhunt was launched when the suspects disappeared, finding Dykes and Marano in Florida, Beltran in Utah. Trials for Beltran and Marano begin next spring.
