EVERMAN (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The City of Everman will officially dedicate an inclusive playground on Monday in honor of a missing special needs child who is presumed to be dead.

6-year-old Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez became the subject of an Amber Alert in March and authorities said he was last seen alive in October of 2022.

Everman Mayor Ray Richardson said Noel’s disappearance weighs heavily on the community.

“Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t ask about Noel. No child should have to suffer the abuse and neglect that Noel went through,” he said.

Richardson added that Noel’s story is heartbreaking and should never be forgotten.

“My thought was I would like to name the park after Noel and have some type of monument or marker that kind of keeps him in our thoughts and memories and keeps his story alive,” he said.

The “Noel Angel Alvarez Playground” is at Clyde Pittman Park along N Race Street in Everman. It’s designed for children with disabilities to be able to use it.

Noel’s mother Cindy Rodriguez-Singh has been indicted on several charges including capital murder.

Rodriguez-Singh, her husband and other children flew to India amid the investigation.

Authorities are working to extradite the couple.
