GARLAND (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A Dallas grand jury indicted a North Texas teen who was the subject of an Amber Alert in September on a capital murder charge this week.
Police arrested 17-year-old Natalie Navarro for the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Aurturo Pena during an alleged online robbery plot.
Investigators said Pena’s body was found inside his car in Garland’s Audubon Park on August 29.
During the investigation, detectives identified Navarro and 21-year-old Yordy Martinez as persons of interest.
Dallas police issued the Amber Alert on September 1 for Navarro and she was taken into custody days later near the southern border.
According to the indictment, Navarro admitted to allegedly attempting to rob Pena but claims Martinez shot him.
Martinez is still on the run.
