PLANO – (WBAP/KLIF) – Watch your surroundings carefully if you’re making a trip to the bank or automatic bank teller. Plano Police report nearly 50 cases of “jugging” incidents – that’s when suspects watch and follow bank customers, hoping to steal cash, and at times, burglarize their vehicles. More than a half million dollars has been stolen from Plano area bank customers, police say.
Police suggest if you visit a bank or A-T-M, you be on the alert for cars in the parking lot with dark tinted windows, and watch for people on a phone near bank doors. Police suggest you conceal money bags when leaving a bank, switch routes going home or back to the office, and drive to a police station or call 9-1-1 if you think you are being followed.
