Heavily Armed Suspect Jailed in Tarrant County

WHITE SETTLEMENT (WBAP/KLIF) – Police in White Settlement say Officers thwarted a potential murder suicide over the weekend.

According to the City of White Settlement Police Department, Officers responded to an emergency person with a weapon call on Sunday, November 12, at 12:58 p.m. in the 9200 block of Dale Lane Court. Redacted portions of the 9-1-1 call and body-worn camera footage have been released based upon the amount of media inquiries related to this case. Full details are included on social media.

“This could have had a very tragic outcome had officers arrived 30-seconds later,” said Chief Cook. “Investigators believe the suspect was going to kill the victim and then take his own life based upon the situation and social media posts uncovered. I am grateful for our swift and quick response along with the compliance of the suspect.”

The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Steven Silva. He is charged with Terroristic Threat, Unlawfully Carrying of Weapon, and Possession of Controlled Substance.
