FDA Eyedrop Recall WIDENS

WASHINGTON DC- (WBAP/KLIF)- The FDA is expanding it’s recall of over the counter eyedrops to 26 products because of the risk of eye infections. If you have an issue after having used any of these products, the FDA recommends seeing a doctor as soon as possible and ensuring that federal agency also knows about the issues.

Bought in stores or online, the recalled products began with an Equate product recalled back in October, 2023. Now, the government is adding products made by CVS, Target, Leader and Rugby or “Cardinal Health”, Rite Aid and Velocity Pharma. The FDA says it found unsanitary conditions in a manufacturing facility and positive bacterial test results from sampling of critical areas in the facility. FDA recommends you toss these products in the garbage to avoid others inadvertently using these products, placing eyesight at risk of infection or even blindness.
