Train Derailment in Haslet Backs Up Monday Morning Traffic

HASLET (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A busy thoroughfare in Haslet has reopened after a train derailment caused an hours-long traffic delay Monday morning.

The City of Haslet said three empty cars went off track at Avondale-Haslet road around 6 a.m.

Officials said there were no hazardous materials on board and there was no danger to the public.

Northwest ISD school buses had to be rerouted due to the derailment.

About three hours after the initial incident, BNSF railway crews got the trains back on track and reopened the road.
