BALCH SPRINGS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Balch Springs police are investigating why the body of a 16-year-old boy was found outside a Mesquite Independent School District elementary school this week.
The department got a call around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday about the gruesome discovery at Gray Elementary school, on Pioneer just south of Timothy Lane.
First responders tried to revive the teen, whose was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Lamarya Marquez DeWaine Sanders.
The district told parents he was a former Berry Middle School student, who withdrew in 2021.
The medical examiner’s office did not list a cause of death. Police said they do not suspect foul play at this time.
Classes resumed as normal Wednesday morning.
