Israeli and Palestinian Supporters Rally in Dallas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Israeli and Palestinian supporters rallied across the United States over the weekend as war broke out following a deadly attack by Hamas, and retaliation from Israel.

Chants of free Palestine were heard at events from New York to Chicago, and San Diego to Dallas. The Dallas Palestine Coalition and other local groups organized the downtown rally.

In New York City, a fight erupted near the U.N. compound while Palestinian supporters held a rally in Time Square. The Israeli consulates saw protests by Palestinians outside their building in Chicago and Atlanta. Meanwhile, Israeli supporters showed out too, in some places, including a few in Downtown Dallas.

Hamas launched thousands of rockets on Israel over the weekend in an unprecedented attack.

More than 1,100 people were killed, including at least 700 in Israel. Close to 2,000 people have been wounded on each side. Israeli officials said security forces have killed 400 militants.

Israel officially declared war on Sunday, and concerns rise around the world about escalating violence.
