Plano ISD is Reviewing Their Book Policy

PLANO – (WBAP/KLIF) – Plano ISD is reviewing their book policy after parents expressed concerns that some books in the library contained sexually explicit content.

On Friday superintendent Therese Williams announced that the district would be reviewing their book policy that has been in place since August of 2022. To strengthen the policy the district will conduct a comprehensive review of current procedures to find gaps in the policies effectiveness, and propose a policy revision if necessary.

Williams also added that the Plano ISD board of trustees, leadership team, and staff do not condone having any material with sexually explicit content present in their libraries or schools.
