(WBAP/KLIF) — During a Thursday luncheon at the Gaylord Texan Convention Center in Grapevine, Senator John Cornyn updated the North Texas business community on a variety of issues involving the border, fentanyl, and the job market.

Cornyn was also asked about Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s recent episode of freezing up at an event in Kentucky. Many are concerned about the 81-year-old Republican leader’s health. McConnell had been speaking fluently at the event prior to his episode.
In addition, the border crisis continues to see upwards of 7,000 illegal migrants a day pour into the U.S. the lack of effective policy by the current administration has GOP members of congress at a frustrating impasse. Cornyn of Texas believes the open borders policy, as he calls it, is intentional.
