Dallas Police Warn of Fake Emails Claiming to be From Mayor Eric Johnson, Scam Targets Seniors

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Dallas Police Department’s Financial Crimes Unit is warning the public about a scam targeting senior citizens.

Detectives have received reports of victims getting an email claiming to be from Mayor Eric Johnson inviting them to invest money and contains a link.

Police are urging anyone who receives the email to avoid clicking on the link or investing.

They’re also asking all complaints to be sent to [email protected].

Anyone who has been scammed can filed an online report at dallaspolice.net.
