(OJAI)- As residents in Southern California brace for damaging, dangerous winds and catastrophic flooding possibilities courtesy of Tropical Storm Hilary, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake was reported Sunday at 2:41 p.m. near Ojai. The quake was described as a “roller” with several aftershocks and felt in the Los Angeles area.
Los Angeles Fire Department is now engaged in Earthquake Operation mode in addition to preparing for and helping possible flooding victims of the tropical storm. That means all 106 fire departments in neighborhoods across Los Angeles will conduct a survey to determine if there are damages from the Ojai quake, and how significant. So far, no signficant reports of structural damage or injuries.
