(WBAP/KLIF) — MedStar is utilizing heat maps to track heat-related calls, which shows a cluster in downtown Fort Worth, along Rosedale Street and Lancaster Avenue.
Matt Zavadsky says the data shows that the calls are concentrated around areas with a high concentration of homeless, who struggle to readily find cooling environments. MedStar crews have treated 530 patients so far this year and transported close to 400 people to the hospital in 2023, roughly 10% of which have been in serious or critical condition.
