(WBAP/KLIF) — Dallas Police Department released body cam video of Tuesday’s officer involved shooting.
41-year-old Ryan Taylor allegedly used a U-Haul truck to ram a police vehicle and led DPD on a high-speed chase along the Dallas North Tollway while crashing into motorists. Taylor eventually exited the DNT on Lemmon Avenue and narrowly missed colliding with a DART bus, before running into a tree and fleeing on foot into a warehouse. That’s when Officer Kennan Craven gave chase on foot, when Taylor pulled a handgun and fired at least twice at the officer.
Craven returned fire, striking Taylor in the leg. Officers provided immediate medical attention to Taylor and placed him under arrest. None of the officers or motorists were seriously injured in the incident. The 41-year-old faces several charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest in a vehicle. The District Attorney’s office will review the case and possibly filed attempted murder against the man.
