DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The WNBA is investigating an incident involving star player Britney Griner on Saturday at DFW Airport.
The Phoenix Mercury star, and Former Baylor standout, was released from a Russian prison as part of a swap between the U-S and the Kremlin months ago.
Over the weekend, while traveling through DFW Airport, Griner was met by known a right-wing conservative who posted clips of the encounter to his social media page. Griner didn’t have much of a reaction in the video.
The WNBA has since released a statement calling the heckling unfortunate and unacceptable.
The league said it has and will continue to work to protect Griner’s safety.
