At-Home Outfits Homeless Housing Apartments in Dallas

(WBAP/KLIF) — A major home decor retailer is helping the City of Dallas combat homelessness. The Office of Homeless Solutions (OHS) new permanent supportive housing building on Independence Drive was outfitted by retailer At-Home.

The company’s Mackenzie McCarver says the services area apartments were outfitted with At-Home merchandise. The Dallas-based chain operates more than 260 stores across 40 states. CEO Lee Bird attended Friday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony at the city’s first permanent supportive housing complex.
McCarver says the company outfitted apartments with sofas, mirrors, pictures and other items. The donation to the 5,000 square foot building was the largest the OHS has ever received.

The facility’s residential units and surrounding grounds will be renovated during phase two of the project, which is anticipated to be funded later this year.
