57-year-old Daniel Gutierrez points weapon and fires at Fort Worth Police Officers – May 13, 2023

The incident occurred last Saturday night just after 7:00 p.m. when a woman called 9-1-1 to report that her husband was hallucinating and had a handgun.  According to Noakes, when officers arrived 57-year-old Daniel Gutierrez began firing at police from inside his home. Police were able to get his wife out safely and then fired gas canisters into the residence to draw him out.

The man then came out on the porch and began firing at police again. Officers were forced to return fire, striking Gutierrez several times. The 57-year-old was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. No other officers or civilians were injured.
