Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker is running for re-election and wants to continue her efforts in promoting the city as one of the best places to live in the nation. She is excited about the accomplishments during her first term as mayor, especially working with Police Chief Neil Noakes in the “Fort Worth Safe” crime reduction campaign.

The campaign began last year with a goal of reducing violent crime by 10%, and just last month numbers showed a reduction of 13%. Parker also feels grateful for the economic growth, business opportunities, park improvements, infrastructure development, pedestrian safety, and efforts to educate the youth of Cowtown. She credits council members, city management, and municipal employees for much of the city’s success in making Fort Worth the fastest growing city in the nation.

Parker faces off against challengers Jennifer Castillo, Kenneth Bowens Jr., Alyson Kennedy, and Adrian Devine Smith at the polls. After early voting ends on May 2nd, residents will still have an opportunity to cast a ballot on Election Day, which is Saturday, May 6th.
